EventKwartet is a pool of highly experienced string players who play with the major orchestras of the Netherlands, such as Concertgebouw Orkest, Het Gelders Orkest, Het Metropole Orkest en Het Radio Philharmonie. In addition we have wide and varied experienced playing string quartets for concerts and recitals, weddings and parties and in collaboration with various rock and pop bands.

We have a large and varied repertoire. As well as existing classical string quartets we have a large library of arrangements of classical pieces. In addition we have repertoire in many other styles, including jazz, latin, tango, pop, rock, and musicals. If there is a specific piece that you would like to hear that doesn’t appear on the list, we can make an arrangement for you. Contact us in advance and we can discuss the possibilities.

Alex Welch is the founder of Eventkwartet. Originally from the UK, Alex has lived in the Netherlands since 2007. As well as playing viola in such orchestras as Metropole Orkest, BBC Scottish Symphony, Halle Orchestra and Joop van de Ende Musicals, she has played in many string quartets. Alex, like many string players, has always loved to play in string quartets. Over the years she has played viola in many different quartets, including in London’s Wigmore Hall, in the Concertgebouw, in the Ziggo Dome with Blof and in Carre and Heineken Music Hall with The Lau. In addition, Alex has a long and varied experience providing string quartet background music for events. In this capacity she has worked in various London hotels, including Claridges, The Dorchester and The Ritz and in stately homes such as Kensington Palace and Highclere Castle (location of Downton Abbey). She has also played and organised string quartets for events in Diergaarde Blijdorp, Artis, De Dom Utrecht and Hotel Van Oranje.
